What type of classes do you offer?

The studio offers quality instruction in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, Musical Theater, Tap, and Creative Movement and adult dance and fitness classes.

What ages and levels do you offer classes to?

We offer classes for ages 2 ½ through adult at levels from beginner through advanced.

My child is 10 years old and has never danced before. Can he/she still take classes?

We offer several age appropriate beginner classes for pre-teens and teenagers.

Are parents permitted to observe classes?

Yes. Parents may view their child's class on our closed circuit television.

What dancewear and footwear are required for classes?

Mariann's School of Dance adheres to a studio uniform for all dancers. This will be either a leotard or tank top and pants with the studio logo on all items. Dancers must purchase their dancewear through the studio only. You are required to attend one of the dancewear sale days at the studio to be fitted for your dancewear and footwear. All dancers will have until September 30 to order their dancewear. Dancers will not be admitted to any dance class without the proper dancewear uniform and footwear.

Do you have an end of year performance?

Yes. An annual spring performance for dancers in dance and theatre classes is held at the end of the season. This yearly event is designed to develop the student's sense of dance and performing ability through participation in a theatrical production. Creative Movement students perform in their own, separate performance.

What is the New Millennium Dance Company?

This is our resident performing company. The purpose of this group is to provide dedicated students with excellent training as well as performing opportunities beyond the yearly recital. The New Millennium Dance Company gives performances at local shopping malls, senior homes and facilities approximately every three to four weeks. For further information or to audition for the company, please call the studio.

What is the Terpsichore Dance Company?

This is our resident competition company. The purpose of this group is to provide dedicated students with excellent training as well as performing opportunities at local venues. In addition, the company participates in 4-5 dance competitions throughout New Jersey and New York during the year. Dancers in the company are required to attend classes in ballet, jazz, jump and turn/technique, and lyrical classes as well as weekend rehearsals. Can I try a class before registering?

Yes. We offer trial classes for new dancers. Please call the studio to arrange a class.

How do I register my child for the 2011-2012 Season?

There are several ways to register. If you have received a brochure and registration form, you may mail the registration form along with your payment to the studio. If you do not have a registration form, you may print one off of the web site and mail it along with your payment to the studio. You may also stop by at one of our in studio registration dates, which are listed on the "Registration" page of the web site.

When do I need to register by for the coming season?

We suggest you register as soon as possible as classes are limited in size and do fill up quickly. We will be accepting registration through the end of November 2011.
